Mauerpark Institute e.V. is a Berlin-founded organization combining independent, critical and emancipatory social research with concrete socio-political engagement. We work both in local and global arenas with the aim of breaching walls of indifference and opening spaces for the upholding of human rights and towards economic and social justice.

Our main fields of interest are human rights, economic and social justice, conflict and political transitions, memory work in post-conflict areas as well as gender and social identities. A critical part of our work is to collaborate with partner organizations both from the North and from the South, promoting exchanges, conducting and publishing research as well as implementing projects.
